Tahoe Hotels and Motels
Lake Tahoe's hotels and motels cover the range from very basic to top-of-the-line luxury. These establishments are scattered around the lake but concentrated near the towns. South Shore is especially rich in options. A hotel or motel is generally best if you are alone or part of a small party and staying for one or two days.
Casinos
The casinos on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe offer some of the most luxurious as well as bargain rooms. If you are more interested in indoor sports than outdoor sports then a casino is probably your best bet.

Resorts
Resorts come in all shapes and sizes. Best known are the world famous ski resorts but resorts emphasizing quieter pursuits are also available.
Tahoe Condos
Condos are often the right option for larger groups and, since many of them are located near the ski slopes, they are often the first choice of skiers. Condos are also a good choice if you like the comforts of home when you travel and prefer to prepare your own meals.
Rent A Lake Tahoe Home
Tahoe has many homes available, usually for year-round or season-long stays. As you can imagine the choices run from very basic to ultra luxurious mansions with full staff. Renting a home for the ski season is a good choice if you plan on sking every weekend or want to share usage with others.
Lake Tahoe Cabins
Cabins are usually just homes with a rustic name. However some classic forest or lake cabins are available if your tastes run toward the rustic.
